The purpose of this meeting is to gain public input relating to a proposed ordinance regulating the work of utility companies.  The meeting will take place at 7:00 PM before the regular Planning Commission meeting.  Meeting will be conducted at the Town Hall, 23250 Main Street, Hampton.

(Before Regular Board Meeting)

The purpose of this meeting is to reorganize the Board of Supervisors positions on the board (chair position, attorney contact, etc.)  The meeting will take place at 7:15 PM before the regular board meeting.

Invitation to Quote Gravel (Crushed Aggregate) Specifications:

TYPE: No. 1 - Lime Rock Class 5 Modified 10% - 15% binder.

QUANTITY: Approximately 6,000 tons of Lime Rock applied to roads, additional tons as needed for spot work.

MEASUREMENT: Each load must be weighed by an approved weighing device and receipt delivered to job Superintendent. Approximately 4" depth on 5 to 6 miles of road.


  1. Supply, deliver, and spread material that has been approved by the Hampton Township Board. Water and roller must also be available. The Township will be having chloride applied as well.
  2. Graveling to begin on or about May 15, 2014. Work is to be directed by the Township and coordinated with gravel supplier. Other dates may be possible with Board approval.
  3. All work should be completed by June 10, 2014.
  4. Quotes should be submitted in three (3) categories:
    • Material prices per ton including trucking, water, and roller.
    • Additional ton rate for spot work to be completed by the Township.
    • Mixing and blading out the gravel.
  5. The Township will be doing five (5) to six (6) miles of road at an approximate four (4) inch depth and additional small areas, to be determined by the Township Board.

Hampton Township may take material samples and may test randomly. Tests will include but not be limited to, sieve analysis of fine and coarse aggregates, analysis of clay and silts in fines, and magnesium sulfate soundness test (MNDOT) 1219. At the time of billing, Township reserves the right to retain up to 10% of contractor's claim pending test results. Materials supplied by contractor not meeting Township specifications, may result in Township not refunding retainer. Township reserves the right to reject any and all quotes, to waive irregularities and information therein and further reserves the right to award the contract, in part by project, in the best interest of the Township.

The Township Clerk will accept quotes at 23250 Main Street, Hampton, MN 55031 until 5:00 PM, Monday, April 14, 2014. If submitting quote by mail, please send to P.O. Box 154, Hampton, MN 55031. The quotes will be reviewed at the regular Township Board meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7:30 PM at the Township Hall located at 23250 Main Street in the City of Hampton.

For the provision of road maintenance and snow removal services to Hampton Township:

Notice is hereby given that sealed quotes, for the provision of general road maintenance and snow removal services of 28.8 miles of Township roads, under a two (2) year contract, will be received by the Township Clerk until 5:00 P.M. on Monday, April 14, 2014. Bids received after the aforementioned date and time will be returned to the bidder unopened.

General specifications and road information must be obtained by contacting the Township Clerk at 651-437-4500. Bids must be submitted sealed with the envelope clearly marked on the outside, as in accordance to the bid specifications of Hampton Township.

Each bid shall be accompanied by either a bid bond, a cash deposit, a certified bank letter of credit, or certified check, made payable to Hampton Township, Dakota County, Minnesota in the amount of $10,000.00 as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract within the time specified and at the bid price.

The Bidder must have or have immediate access to:

  • Motor Grader to grade the roads
  • Backhoe
  • Front end loader
  • Trucks to haul gravel and sand
  • Trucks and Blade for snowplowing

The Hampton Township Board requires the Bidder to have proof of Liability and Workman's Compensation insurance in the amount specified by the Board. The Board will interview the bidders.

The Hampton Township Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any defects or technicalities in bidding, and to determine whether a bid is responsive or non-responsive. The Hampton Township Board of Supervisors further reserves the right to make a bid award to the lowest and most responsible bidder as determined by the Town Board of Supervisors.

Dakota County received a MPCA/Clean Water Legacy Grant for upgrading failing septic systems. Funds can be used county wide outside of shoreland areas. Requirements are:

  • Must have a notice of noncompliance (failing compliance inspection report) to apply
  • Income-Based

Click Here for the income-based requirement breakdown. Dakota County is grouped with Minneapolis/St. Paul/Bloomington. As an example, low income for a family of two is $52,000, so many people will qualify. This will be on a first come first serve bases. Grant funds have to be spent or returned by June 30, 2014.

For emergency situations, all Hampton Township residents are required to have a green emergency house number that can be clearly seen from the road. This is very helpful for the emergency personal in case of an emergency call at your residence. If you don't have a sign or need a replacement, please contact the Hampton Township Clerk at 651-437-4500 and one will be ordered for you. The cost to the resident is $20.00 per sign. The post is sold seperately. Signs must be paid for prior to the order being placed for one.
