2014 MARCH TOWNSHIP ELECTION ABSENTEE BALLOT BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE
The Dakota County Absentee Ballot Board will meet at 1:00PM on the dates listed below to accept absentee ballots received from voters in the following Dakota County townships:
Castle Rock Township, Douglas Township, Empire Township, Eureka Township, Greenvale Township, Hampton Township, Marshan Township, Nininger Township, Randolph Township, Ravenna Township, Sciota Township, Vermillion Township, and Waterford Township
The Dakota County UOCAVA Absentee Ballot Board will meet at the same time and dates listed below to accept UOCAVA absentee ballots from Dakota County voters.

VERMILLION RIVER WATERSHED PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCY
The Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization is seeking applicants for two vacancies on the Vermillion River Watershed Planning Commission (WPC). Ideally, the candidate would be from a township with a background in farming, but all are welcome to apply.
This 9-member committee advises the Joint Powers Board regarding its duties under the Joint Powers Agreement including the responsibility to: guide implementation of the watershed management plan and annual work plan and budget; and recommend action regarding disputes pursuant to the joint powers agreement. The WPC meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 4-6 PM in Apple Valley. To be considered for appointment you must live in the Vermillion River Watershed.
Vermillion River Watershed citizens interested in serving on the Watershed Planning Commission should contact the County Environmental Resources Department at 952-891-7024 to obtain an application form.
Dakota County received a MPCA/Clean Water Legacy Grant for upgrading failing septic systems. Funds can be used county wide outside of shoreland areas. Requirements are:

As an example, low income for a family of two is $52,000, so many people will qualify. This will be on a first come first serve bases. Grant funds have to be spent or returned by June 30, 2014.

For emergency situations, all Hampton Township residents are required to have a green emergency house number that can be clearly seen from the road. This is very helpful for the emergency personal in case of an emergency call at your residence. If you don't have a sign or need a replacement, please contact the Hampton Township Clerk at 651-437-4500 and one will be ordered for you. The cost to the resident is $20.00 per sign. The post is sold seperately. Signs must be paid for prior to the order being placed for one.
